Marcus Gosse – Artwork for the Royal Canadian Mint
Marcus Gosse, a Mi’kmaw artist from Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland), is the first Mi’kmaw artist from the province to have Mi’kmaq art included on a coin for the Royal Canadian Mint. The art can be found on a pure-silver, one ounce coin and depicts the Mi’kmaq creation story – a story that is very important to our people. This is an exciting moment for Marcus and we hope the coin sells out fast! Experience Qalipu would also like to say a big congratulations to Marcus on this incredible achievement.
